Background:  Playing Bio: Started playing at age 3 for the Capitol Boys Hockey Club located at Ft. Dupont, DC. Played local youth hockey for Capitol Boys and Northern Virginia Hockey Club. At age 15-16 played for the Washington Little Capitals and Washington Junior Capitals. At age 17 drafted in the first round of the NJHL Junior A Draft by the Saginaw Gears. Played one year in Saginaw, the following year traded to the NJHL Champion Kalamazoo Jr. K Wings. Went on to play Division III NCAA Hockey at Geneseo State University in NY (SUNYAC conference). Team Captain Junior/Senior year. Maj Mattiloi also Joined the Marine Corps in 2001.
